Yves Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2016 Ready to Wear Collection

This collection really stood out to me because I think it is something unusual to see for YSL and fashion houses on such a prestigious level such as Yves Saint Laurent. This genius collection by Hedi Slimane is beautiful and something I think that really makes the brand YSL stand out from the rest.

The collection is made up from a few staple well known pieces from Saint Laurent like suit jackets and suit trousers in different colours an styles such as pin stripes. The Wellington boots looks they have used is very festival chic which I think is very good for the spring and summer collection as this is prime festival season. I like the choice of cocktail dresses which feature lace, feathers, sparkles and netting. The mixed style of oversized jackets are beautiful and the main garments that made me look at this collection. I also love the constant flow of these beautiful tiaras, it's something that I haven't seen featured in a catwalk look before which I find original and fascinating.

Something else I noticed was the colours that were used for the spring summer collection, compared to other brands. These colours were very neutral, with hints of red popping in some cases. The collection mainly features, blacks, greys, whites, creams, denim and khaki.

I think for one of my editorial looks I will attempt to create a look with this type of styling because I find it just beautiful. I think I will try to include lace, denim jackets and a tiara.

Describing this collection I would say it was worn in with a punk princess festival vibe. Cochella meets download festival.
